據 說這是為了慶祝Beastie Boys成立二十四年而推出的一張合輯，大部份人慶祝的都是五週年、十週年、十五週年之類以五年為單位，但他們慶祝的卻是二十四週年，都沒關係，反正人家 要慶祝你阻不了，歡喜的話天天都可以是紀念日，只是如此一來就很容易令人誤會這是為出而出濫竽充數的另一張精選合輯。
這張Solid Gold Hits的價值是高是低大家自己心中有數，但隨著這張合輯的推出而連帶發生的其中一個推廣項目的價值卻一點不低。Solid Gold Hits合輯收錄的除了是Beastie Boys歷年來的精選作品外，還包括有remix的版本，而官方網路上面，其實已經開始了一個官方認可的Beastie Boys全民remix活動，來自世界各地的網民只需登上Beastie Boys的remixers網站， 即可以免費下載二十多段Beastie Boys歌曲的主唱音軌，當中包括Hey Fuck You、Ch-Check It Out、Rhyme the Rhyme Well....等等，當你將這些主唱音軌下載之後，就可以各自發功製作完全私人的Beastie Boys Remix了。
下載製作是第一部，交流分享是第二部，官方還準備了Beastie Boys Remix Forum供各混音高手將製成品公諸同好互相切磋。於這個forum之中就找到了一個名叫Taco Zip的remixer，如他的個人混音網站Beastie Boys Remixes內， 已經存放了二十三首Beastie Boys的remix作品，而總共的下載次數已經超過三萬次。當中的一首Pass The Mic Remix聽來很有趣，Taco Zip將Beastie Boys的Hip Hop跟Portishead的Trip Hop混為一體，創意無限。
