如果你曾經都因為The Killers及The Bravery的非常八十而興奮過，請你都不要錯過The Departure。
The Departure來自英格蘭北安普敦，成員包括主音David Jones、結他Sam Harvey及Lee Irons、低音結他Ben Winton及鼓手Andy Hobson。
The Departure都是其中一個被傳媒所愛戴的單位，當單曲All Mapped Out於上年八月以限量形式發行後，The Departure已經被扣上了"the new Franz Ferdinand"的封號，誠然，就The Departure各人細緻得感覺上近乎姿整的裝束打扮來看，"the new Franz Ferdinand"之名的確有根有據，而音樂上，他們都是同樣屬於一系列飲八十乳汁大的一群。由Talkshow的bassline，專輯開頭Just Like TV的結他前奏，還有David Jones的唱腔，偶而你會聽到U2，一轉眼又遇上了The Cure，甚至是David Bowie、Ian McCulloch及Duran Duran。畢竟八十年代的確是樂隊成長路上其中一個很重要的元素，甚至於樂隊官方網站上的連結你都可以找到U2、Depeche Mode及David Bowie的名字。
然而，假若我們可以放他們一馬不再從他們身上尋找別人的蹤跡，The Departure本身還是依然有他的吸引與迷人。The Departure的節奏部份是緊湊躍動的，雙結他於密集的節拍中穿梭交纏，主音一派瀟洒輕蔑的唱腔，結合成一個牢不可破牽引糾纏的氛圍，不自覺地就會徐徐地手舞足蹈起來，再配合上搶耳的旋律，All Mapped Out與Lump In My Throat輕易地就成為另一首indie anthem。

i like them, got their album on the release day while that's the day i backed from london. have a first listen only, and it sounds more britpop than 80s to me, but as truth as they said in an interview that they sound more like DM with guitar than Franz F.
do you like Franz F, the Killers, the Bravery and Bloc Party?

i enjoy listening to the bands u've mentioned. if have a quick ranking, it will be bloc party>Franz>the killers>bravery. but to me, i wont get addicted to them.. recently there are too many bands with similar sound that i cant recognise which is which! they dont have their own style... that;s what i dont want to see..

又U2, 又Depeche Mode, 即刻想聽喎...
如果以上提到的The Killers / The Bravery / Franz F / Bloc Party你都喜歡的話, The Departure的確都值得一試啊!
The Killers 同Franz F 都好鍾意. The bravery 則偏愛某幾首歌. bloc party 唔知點解,明明不是不好聽, 但始於唔係太鍾意...
不過 The departure 仍會找來聽的~
